System Engineer at Combitech in Västerås

Are you an experienced system engineer with a broad perspective looking to work on qualified assignments in defense, industry, rail, or nuclear power? Combitech in Västerås is seeking system engineers who thrive in the role of a cohesive link between requirements, technology, and delivery. Here, you will work closely with clients, take overall responsibility for systems, and contribute to making complex solutions actually work in reality.

What We Offer

At Combitech, we invest in our employees, who are the core, brain, and heart of our operations. We do this by focusing on your professional development, making it easy for you to combine work with everyday life, and offering other great benefits.

We believe that development is the key to success - both professionally and personally. With us, you will have the opportunity to participate in technical courses related to systems work and adjacent areas, all to strengthen your skills. We offer regular course weeks focusing on your personal development, allowing you to grow on multiple levels. Additionally, you have the chance to network with system engineers and specialists from different offices, opening doors for new insights and collaborations.

We place great importance on well-being and team spirit, which is why we organize joint activities and ensure a work environment that is both open and inclusive. Welcome to Combitech - where your development is at the center.

What the Role Involves

At Combitech, you will work on qualified assignments for our clients in Västerås and the Mälardalen region, often within defense, industry, rail, or nuclear power. The assignments are characterized by complex systems, many stakeholders, and high demands for structure, traceability, and delivery capability.

We are looking for engaged system engineers who want to contribute to the development of both Combitech and our consulting offerings. In this role, you will focus on the overall function of the system and take responsibility for its entirety across different disciplines. You will ensure that requirements are translated into functioning solutions and act as a contact point between technical areas, suppliers, and stakeholders.

The work involves structuring requirements at the system level and understanding how various requirements and regulations impact the system. You will coordinate communication between software, hardware, mechanics, and operations, as well as support planning and risk management to ensure that the system delivers according to requirements, time, and quality. Depending on the assignment and your experience, you may have a key role with significant overall responsibility, leading the systems work without needing to be a specialist in every technical area.

As the position involves work subject to defense secrecy, you are required to undergo and be approved in a security screening with a background check.

Selection is ongoing. We look forward to your application!

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a system engineer with several years of experience in systems work or similar roles and a background in engineering. You have worked with complex technical systems where multiple disciplines collaborate and thrive in a generalist role with a holistic perspective, rather than as a specialist.

Your technical understanding allows you to grasp various technical areas at an overarching level, and you have the ability to engage in dialogues with specialists in software, electronics, or mechanics. You can lead and coordinate technical work, even if you are not responsible for detailed design or coding.

Experience in environments with embedded systems, communication, operating systems, or databases is advantageous. However, your ability to understand and manage the whole is more important than deep expertise in a specific area. Good knowledge of Swedish and English is required, both orally and in writing.
